Narelle grew up on Wiradjuri land in country NSW and has had a long commitment to sustainable business leadership and governance practices that help drive innovation and growth.
With a decade of director experience in NFP, government and private business, she is a non-executive director of The Ethics Centre, an adviser to disruptive HR startup MWAH (making work absolutely human) and innovation platform Idea Spies and an Ambassador for Women for Election Australia.
During three decades as a business journalist and editor, Narelle has worked for Australia’s leading media groups including the ABC, Fairfax Media, BRW and SBS TV.
She was Editor of the Australian Financial Review’s BOSS Magazine and founding co-chair of the AFR’s Women of Influence awards.
As Editor-in-Chief of the Australian Institute of Company Directors member magazine Company Director ( 2017 – 2022), she led its relaunch and subsequent creative and commercial success, recognised with a dozen national and global industry and peer awards.
She is a Contributing Editor to Company Director and co-author of New Women New Men New Economy (Federation Press), which shows how fair and inclusive cultures drive innovation and sustainable growth.
