Learn how to measure and manage social impact

Social Impact Hub and the Australian Scholarships Foundation are collaborating to deliver a series of tailored 1-day Impact Measurement Courses aimed at for purpose organisations. This course will build the capability of professionals to design, measure, and demonstrate impact. It will include experiential learning components and sharing of case studies and best practice examples.

Course outline:

  • Learn how to identify and articulate the impact a project or organisation intends to create through a Theory of Change.
  • Build an understanding of how to develop and implement an impact measurement framework.
  • Explore best practices in demonstrating impact.

Course Facilitator – Debbie Jamieson

Debbie is a versatile professional with a strong commitment to social justice. Debbie has 30 years’ experience in the for-purpose sector in consulting, executive, and senior management roles with extensive experience in the aged care and disability sectors. She is a freelance consultant and qualified trainer, with postgraduate qualifications in business management, social impact, and mediation. Over 18 years of consulting, Debbie has worked with dozens of diverse for-purpose organisations and groups, from small grass roots community initiatives to state-wide, national, and global entities. Debbie works in a facilitative and collaborative way to build collective understanding of the problem space and identify how current strengths and capabilities can be leveraged to generate positive outcomes. Debbie brings to her work expertise in governance and leadership capacity building, strategy, training & development, impact measurement, evaluation and review, human-centred design, and collaboration. As a member of the PIN, Debbie has worked on a variety of projects, primarily in Theory of Change and Impact Measurement.

Course details

Duration: 1 x day course (9 am – 4 pm) includes morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea. This course is only offered as an in-person workshop.

  • Sydney – Monday 6 November 2023: 9.00 am – 4.00 pm
  • Melbourne – Wednesday 28 February 2024: 9.00 am – 4.00 pm

Cost: Tiered by the annual turnover of a participant’s not-for-profit organisation. As follows: 

Small (annual income under $500,000)$595 + GST
Medium (annual income of between $500,000 and $3 million) $795 + GST
Large (annual income of above $3million)$995 +GST

You will be asked to choose your organisation size at the checkout. There are 30 places available for each course.


ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible to enrol in the program applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be employed by an Australian not-for-profit organisation.
  • Be an Australian citizen or Permanent Resident and will need to satisfy ASF’s general eligibility criteria.
MORE INFORMATION

All participants must be working for an organisation that fits one or more of the following criteria:

  • has a charitable, community-public benefit or poverty relief purpose, as indicated by whether the NFP has Australian Tax Office TCC and/or DGR status, or “registered charity” status.
  • is a social enterprise or business (organisations using a business model to provide a social benefit) that may not have TCC/DGR.
  • other organisations with a community or public benefit purpose (generally evidenced by a “formal” governance structure, voluntary participation by members and independence from government) that do not fit the above categories.
