Entries were assessed on the impact and relevance of their programs for promoting outstanding professional development opportunities in the not-for-profit sector, including providing scholarships for the ongoing professional development of the sector and/or enhanced scholarship opportunities.

WINNER: CareFlight, Trauma Care Workshops
CareFlight Community Education is a national program providing quality training with a focus on trauma response. The hands-on workshops are designed to share clinical knowledge and build community resilience. CareFlight is committed to building equity in health care across Australia by reducing the disparity between rural and urban communities access to health services, training and education. CareFlight delivers over 100 community programs every year. It has equipped more than 7000 Australians with the skills to save lives and speed recovery immediately after a trauma occurs.
JUDGES’ COMMENT
CareFlight has been running scenario-based and community-focused workshops for professional and volunteer first responders since 2011. These hands-on and realistic workshops, developed to share critical skills and build resilience in rural, regional, and remote communities, have been delivered free of cost to more than 7,000 community members across Australia. As a result of the workshops, CareFlight has provided their volunteers with the practical skills to save lives and look after their well-being while volunteering.
