Diploma of Business (Governance) for WA NFPs

Applications close Wednesday 13 March

ICDA Diploma of Business (Governance)

For too long, not-for-profit board members and their supporters have put up with a second-rate reputation and second-rate education. That's set to change.

We have partnered with Bankwest Foundation and the Institute of Community Directors Australia (ICDA) to offer 10x 100% scholarships to attend the ICDA's Diploma of Business (Governance) program in 2019. The Diploma of Business (Governance) is Australia's only currently approved diploma-level governance qualification. This qualification is recognised nationally and will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to sit on or work with boards at the highest level.

"Having knowledgeable, confident board members is invaluable for the organisation. I have the confidence to enquire more deeply and also have a better understanding of my role and responsibilities, knowing where I can add value to the organisation as a board member." ~ says a past scholarship recipient

The course is designed specifically for Australian not-for-profit board/committee members, and the CEOs, managers and senior staff who work alongside them. Both prospective and current members of boards are eligible to apply, though some deep knowledge of a not-for-profit organisation is highly desirable.

Successful applicants will receive a $4,495 scholarship which covers all associated course fees for the intensive Diploma, held over six days in May and July 2019.

If you live in WA and work for a charitable not-for-profit organisation in Western Australia click here to find out more and apply.

Applications close 4 February

Harvard Club of Australia

In recognition of the strong social and economic significance of the non-profit sector to the Australian community, the Harvard Club of Australia (HCA) is offering two fellowships for NFP CEOs to attend the highly regarded six-day Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management (SPNM) course at Harvard Business School in July 2019.

ASF is proud to support HCA by facilitating and managing the application process this year.

Now in its 19th year, the Harvard Club of Australia Nonprofit Fellowships help fulfil the increasing demand for managerial skills and strategic decision-making within the NFP sector.

Today's NFP organisations are faced with shifting demands for services, mounting financial pressures, and diverse operational challenges. To fulfil their missions, nonprofit leaders must step up their game and create organisations that can thrive in the midst of change.

Fellowship recipients will spend six days immersed in a rich learning experience and connect with other NFP leaders from around the world, enabling them to share challenges, solutions and ideas with likeminded peers.

We encourage you to share this Fellowship opportunity with others in your circle you think would benefit.

The directors and team at ASF wish you a happy and safe break over Christmas and New Year. We are taking some time to recharge and relax and ASF will reopen on 14th January 2019.

We'd like to thank all our many supporters - our Education Partners, our corporate and philanthropic supporters and the many other friends of ASF for their generosity throughout 2018.

And most all, we salute the thousands of NFP leaders who inspire ASF to do more. We have great plans for even more scholarship opportunities in 2019.

Wishing you a joyous and happy break. We will see you in the New Year!
