Australian Catholic University - Graduate Certificate in Management of NFP Organisations 2012

ACU is The Australian Catholic University, a public university funded by the Australian Government and open to students and staff of all beliefs.

The Graduate Certificate in Management of Not-for-Profit Organisations has been designed to address the unique challenges facing the third sector. With ever decreasing philanthropic markets and a major government reform, an increasing number of NFP groups are discovering that having a worthy cause alone is no longer enough to ensure future existence. This program aims to create dynamic, capable leaders with the resilience to embrace the evolving NFP landscape and take their organisations to the next level.  The Graduate Certificate is comprised of 4 units and delivered in Sydney over 8 weekend intensives over 10 months.

ACU - ASF Scholarship is made possible by funding from the Origin Foundation.

This  scholarship provide a 100% scholarship for the first two units of the Graduate Certificate in Management of Not-for-Profit Organisations. There are up to five scholarships available. Preferred not-for-profit organisations eligible for 100% scholarship include those with programs that maximise the education prospects of current and future generations of young people and / or creating employment readiness training and work experience opportunities for the long-term unemployed.  All not-for-profits may apply.

Program Structure

The Graduate Certificate is offered as a Consortium Program, with each cohort consisting of at least 2 members of a NFP organisation. To maximise results and enable program knowledge to be applied effectively, it's recommended that each organisation enrols 2-4 participants.  The Certificate is comprised of 4 units and delivered over 8 weekend intensives in Sydney as below. Face-to-face delivery encourages sharing among partipicants who also undertake work-based projects to ensure learning is integrated into the workplace. Each unit is led by a Faculty expert with extensive experience in NFP management and may be complimented by short seminars delivered by key industry experts. Cohorts may also take part in a Study Tour to gain insight from suitable best-practice organisations.

Participants of the Graduate Certificate in Management of Not-for-Profit Organisations are entitled to receive accreditation towards further postgraduate study. Possible pathways include the Master of Commerce and MBA Executive.
