The Australian Scholarships Foundation (ASF) is delighted to welcome Emeritus Professor Steven Schwartz AM as the newest member of its Advisory Panel. Professor Schwartz is the Executive Director of the Council for the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, a Senior Fellow at the Centre for Independent Studies and Senior Advisor at Nous Group.

“Helping people to reach their full potential is the fairest and most effective way to build a better society. That is the purpose of the Australian Scholarships Foundation and that is why I am delighted to join the advisory board,” exclaimed Professor Schwartz.

Paul  A. Murnane, Chairman of ASF, said, “Professor Schwartz, as a former Vice Chancellor of three universities, most recently Macquarie University, and a current Teach for Australia board member, has a deep understanding of the importance of quality education and training. We are looking forward to his participation in our Advisory Panel’s important role in helping guide ASF’s growing scholarships program.”

Professor Schwartz is also Chairman of the Australian-American Fulbright Commission, which facilitated the inaugural world first Fulbright Professional Scholarship in Non-Profit Leadership, sponsored by the Origin Foundation and supported by ASF.

He joins Greg Hutchinson, Carol Schwartz AM, John Barnes, Julie White and Melinda Cilento on the ASF Advisory Panel. The Panel helps the ASF Board identify trends and influences in the NFP sector where capacity building scholarships can help boost the sector’s effectiveness.
