With two thirds of not-for-profits (NFPs) identifying lack of board experience as a key concern within their organisations, Perpetual, the Australian Scholarships Foundation and Australian Institute of Company Directors have come together to help support the learning and development of directors and chairs operating in the NFP sector. ASF'S CEO RESIGNS - May, 2015

Amy Lyden

The Board of Australian Scholarships Foundation (ASF) announced that Amy Lyden has resigned as Chief Executive Officer. Amy will be taking up the role of Scholarship Program Director for the Westpac Bicentennial Foundation in late May.

In making the announcement ASF Chairman Paul A. Murnane acknowledged the outstanding contribution Amy has made to the development of ASF in Australia....

SEEKING THE MISSING LEARNING LINK - April, 2015

In 2013, the Centre for Social Impact at The University of Western Australia established the 'Learning for Purpose' research initiative, a multi-year, comprehensive research program in collaboration with the Australian Scholarships Foundation, and funded by the Origin Foundation and the Australian Research Council.

Lead researchers, Professor Paul Flatau and Dr Ramon Wenzel now share the findings of the study, finally proving the need for skilled nonprofit staff and exploring which skills and competencies sustain impact....

$800,000 IN MBA SCHOLARSHIPS TO THE NFP SECTOR - March, 2015

MBA scholarships

ASF and Kaplan Business School have recently awarded a record-breaking 44 scholarships for Kaplan's MBA program. Recipients of the scholarships are staff of charitable not-for-profit organisations Australia-wide.

The scholarships (17 fully funded and 27 half funded) are generously funded by Kaplan Business School and are collectively worth over $800,000. This is a unique offering which will provide valuable management education to the recipients and their employing organisations....
